I'm addicted to words. Words and sentences, and larger things: excerpts and passages, paragraphs, chapters, and articles. It's amazing what can happen when words come together. It's even better when those words mean something; they can bring back the past or predict the future. Words bring infinite possibilities.

I've been writing ever since I can remember, from childhood through my career as a scientist, and beyond. Because the laboratory wasn't enough, I entered the MFA program at George Mason University to get a bigger fix. Since, I've indulged in freelance writing, editing, and fiction writing.

Science and Art get under my skin (I was a genetic scientist before pursuing a career in publishing), which is why in addition to writing speculative fiction, I created a cultural journal that's set to launch soon, called Urban Molecule. UM is dedicated to unknown artists who've got the guts to ask questions that really make us think.

Presently, I am the Online Content Specialist for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to safeguard and advance the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and policy work. I called Brooklyn home as a baby, and since have lived in Connecticut, Washington, DC, and Manhattan. I'm pleasantly addicted to coffee, really get into photography, and love to call New York City home.

GOAL CHECKLIST (2 MONTH TIMEFRAME)

1. Build my client list as a freelance writer and editor - Check!
   Since I put this goal on the board, I've been picked up as a contract journalist for Suite101, an online information portal that attracts over 7 million readers, and a marketing specialist for Telos Press Publishing, the first U.S. publisher of Jean Baudrillard.
2. Pursue a full time writing and editing career - Check!
   I recently started my new position as Online Content Specialist for Lambda Legal (See Above). It's sure to keep me challenged for a while.
3. Launch Urban Molecule online - Check!
   Since the January 31st launch of Urban Molecule, the journal has hosted one author event and published three new exclusive interviews at its blog, attracting mentions and praise from various blogs such as Eric Leven's Knucklecrack, and presses like New York's Cool Grove.
4. Write my Masters thesis (blog)
5. Finish my first speculative fiction manuscript
6. Get it published!
